April 1, 2004 - Trains

I've posted a "review" of Railroad Tycoon II, just now. Why "review" a game that's 6 years old? Why put the word "review" in quotation marks all the time? You'll have to read it to find out!

November 8, 2003 - Enter the Timike

Well, folks, I just got back from a two month trip to Scotland, Ireland and France, and I brought back a domain name. That's right, the HOB is no longer to be found over at Lycos, it has become a subsidiary of my slightly more professional homepage, Timike.com. The HOB shall continue as a repository for any and all ramblings I have, while Timike will be a more concise read.

To go along with the new digs, I've cleaned up the HOB somewhat and actually put some music online over at the Tunes page. I've also put the travelogue that I wrote while I was away in the Articles bin, in case you should want to relive the magic.

August 1, 2003 - Feeling geeky

Just a quick update today. I've submitted my first ever FAQ to GameFAQs, on the subject of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, which you can find here. Oh, and I also updated the concert calendar again. Other than that, La Part du Quêteux just finished recording our first CD with André Marchand at Chemin 4 and life is generally good. Look for it before Christmas!

June 7 , 2003 - Further tweaks

Just to spite Violaine, I've updated again. The links page now actually has some links on it, the GCA redesign is as complete as it's gonna get, and the calendar of events has been updated. Boo-yah!

Oh, and I'm done teaching classes for the year, now I've just got to survive the exam period, which they tell me is not particularly stressful.

May 29, 2003 - Tweaks

Minor updates throughout the music pages to make the lot a bit more representative of where things are at right now. Also, I updated the concert schedule in an attempt to prepare you for my face-rocking summer tour. Other than that, still teaching up north, soon to be moving in with the band Tuq.

Next up: actually put something interesting on the links page!

April 27, 2003 - Constructuating

Halfway through a revamping of the Garton's Crimson Avengers page to celebrate the album. I know that it would be more impressive if it was complete, but you can think of this as a sneak preview.

November 8, 2002 - Respectable member of society

This is apparently what I've become in the last week. For the record, I'm now spending my weeks living in St-Anne des Lacs and teaching high school science. On weekends, my "career" as a musician continues at its regular pace, with the notable addition of one new band - Les Cinq Printemps! So that's what's new. Oh, I also recorded one track for the upcoming Genticorum album, which explains the photo, partially.

July 11, 2002 - Hey hey, it's photography!

Well, it's been a while since I've added an entirely new section to the House of Blues, but here it is: the Photo Gallery! It's basically your garden variety collection of photos that I've taken with my trusty digital camera, posted online for your enjoyment. Currently there are nighttime shots of Las Vegas, as well as pics of some friends from Vancouver and Ireland - not to mention my new swanky hat. Must warn you, though, it's a relatively hefty page for those of you still on dialup connections.

June 17, 2002 - And now I'm back

I know, I know: go away for a week long vacation in a desert full of gigantic rocks and I bring you back a photo of a lizard. Where are my priorities? Apparently, my priorities center around finding a new way to display the news content without the page taking over a minute to load.

Aside from that, summer is progressing in a calm, orderly fashion. I'm heading down to Finksberg, Maryland this weekend to play a wedding with Genticorum, and the rest of my time is invested in apartment hunting (and Ogre Battle), so don't expect to hear too much out of me.

April 30, 2002 - Gone fishin'

Well, as of this afternoon, my degree is done and I'm going on vacation. Not only a spiritual, virtual vacation, mind you, but an honest to god, plane trip type vacation. While I'm gone, feel free to enjoy two new articles, a short story and an essay on audio streaming. I use both the words "enjoy" and "new" fairly loosely.

I'm back on the 8th of May, try not to break anything while I'm gone.

Travelogue

A two month trip to Europe wouldn't be complete without an exhaustive survey of all the people that I ran into and whose butts I saw. Answers many important questions, such as "how likely is a North American to kill himself the first time he enters a Scottish roundabout in a delivery van?"

A Story

I found this old story as I was digging through some Word 2.0 files from my old 486. I wrote this about 5 years ago, and is probably the most recent attempt I've made at creative writing. That's sort of sad, in itself. Anyway, I've decided to put it up untouched, since I didn't want to change the spirit of the story, and since I was probably a better writer back then anyway.

The Poor Student's Guide to Streaming Audio

I had to HTMLise this short essay for one of my courses, so I thought I might as well inflict it upon the general public while I was at it.

How are you gentlemen!!
Heard about Zero Wing yet?  If not, you probably will soon.  Here's the article that I wrote about the All Your Base Are Belong to Us phenomenon for the McGill Tribune.
